Having myself decided to do a blog about books that are striking, lasting, and memorable, it was only suitable to comment on a blog that advocates and recommends a book itself.
In Praise of Slowness, a book of self reflection and a reminder that maybe we should pause for a moment and think, enjoy, and relish the things that life has to offer. Several of us are constantly in a rush, trying to salvage every second of the day, to ensure that no time goes to waste. But then I thought to myself. Aren’t we doing just that? If we are constantly in a rush and usually trying to satisfy other people’s needs and wants aren’t we missing out on the things that make the journey of life that much more special. I am certainly not an advocate of being lazy and monotone, but maybe, just maybe, from time to time its okay, and even desirable to take a moment and do the things that we tell ourselves we never have the time to do.
